07-09-2011AUSTRALIAN DRIVERS EVANS AND PERRELLA ON PODIUM IN THE WESTERN AUSTRALIA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP SHAKEDOWN
Keb Evans in the Midget class (Cadet) 80cc Comer had a great meeting, setting the fastest time in the 2nd qualifying session out of 18 of the states best drivers, which put him 3rd on the grid for heat 1.
He continued this form with a third and a second place which saw him in position 2 for the final.
The weather wasn't kind to the drivers for the final as the rain came in and a change of kart setup was required.
After going off the track at the 1st corner, Keb dropped to position 10 but rejoined the race and fought his way back into 2nd position by lap 3 and was fast gaining the leader Sam Dicker who had a large lead on the rest of the field. Keb gave it his all and finished just 1.9 seconds behind the leader.
Anthony Perrella, Clubman Super Heavy (180Kg) showed what a class act he is, setting the fastest qualifying times and giving him pole position for heat 1.
He was unstoppable in all heats finishing 1st in every race and with the rain coming down quite heavily in the final he showed a clean pair of heels by finishing a massive 21 seconds ahead of the rest field.
